Conservatory for Formal Events

A conservatory can be used for commercial as well as residential applications. Like a residential setting, a greenhouse used commercially serves as a place for relaxation. The elegant space a conservatory offers can also provide the ideal environment for a formal event such as a wedding reception, dinner, or ball.

When the conservatory is not being utilized to host a formal event, customers and employees can enjoy the conservatory offers a peaceful atmosphere. The greenhouse can provide a year-round venue for galas and black tie events, creating scheduling ease by preventing the weather from becoming a factor. The conservatory's glass walls and roof allow natural light to enter the space, providing an intimate setting when coupled with candlelight in the evenings.

Conservatories can be built in any size and configuration desired and are available in either attached or freestanding. An attached greenhouse is utilized when the conservatory shares a wall with another building. This works well if your company accommodates caterers and servers because they will not have to travel outdoors, where food may cool too quickly. A freestanding conservatory is self-contained, sharing no walls with any other structure. It will not have a lean-to configuration's size limitations because it shares a wall with another building.

Incorporating folding glass walls or a sliding glass door into the conservatory design allows for optimal views of the surrounding scenery, fresh air to enter the space, and doors to be opened during favorable weather. Depending on your location's size, having a patio or garden that guests can access through the folding glass walls may be desirable design integration. This area provides extra space during an event that can be used as a dance floor or a quiet place for reflection.

Ridge and eave vents, coupled with windows, will provide natural airflow and ventilation to the conservatory, maintaining a comfortable temperature. During the day, the conservatory's glass walls and roof will allow the sun to heat the interior, which is beneficial during the winter months. Still, they will create an uncomfortable environment in the summer months. LowE coatings on the conservatory glazing provide an energy-efficient solution that will help keep the conservatory warm in the winter and cool in the summer. Dynamic glazing offerings offer greater energy efficiency and reduce the overall carbon footprint of the structure. Conservatory shades are also available in various styles and fabrics to meet any design requirements while preventing unwanted sunlight from entering the space.
