BeltComp - Belt Conveyor Design Program
Beltcomp is a powerful computer software package introduced to enable materials handling design engineers with belt conveyor design and optimization. Beltcomp is highly dependable software to provide consistent, accurate and cost effective belt conveyor designs. Some of the features of the latest beltcomp program are as follows:

Beltcomp is based on ISO/DIN/IS method of belt conveyor calculations using metric units.

Beltcomp data input is easy and it can cater for complex conveyor geometry including uphill and downhill configurations. It allows design of any length of belt conveyor without limit. The conveyor can be divided into as many as 20 stations (19 sections) as desired. Full loading, partial loading or unloading of any section is permitted for running special conveyor loading simulations. Fully empty condition is automatically calculated with any other condition. Any load case can be run to simulate any operating condition. In-built check features alarms and ensures data entry error to a great extent. Editing of data is also very easy.

Beltcomp provides a supreme feature of allowing any number of drives at virtually any pulley location. It also allows providing of brake on any pulley.

Beltcomp data allows the calculation to proceed by using drive unit WK^2 values from its in-built data base as a default feature. However user can always use his own data also as user’s choice.

Beltcomp calculates minimum take-up tension required considering all cases and also allows the user to incorporate additional take-up load as per user requirement.

Beltcomp allows easy selection of fabric or steel cord belt from the program database or allows user to define his own belt. As a special feature, it automatically calculates maximum belt capacity based on belt width, troughing angle, belt speed, bulk density and maximum conveyor inclination. It also calculates percentage loading of belt with respect to design capacity and flags off in red if the figure exceeds 100%.

Beltcomp automatically selects idler roll diameter and idler shaft diameter as a program default feature with all other properties required to proceed with the calculation. In addition it also allows user to define idler features as a user’s choice option or CEMA idler.

Beltcomp provides extensive context sensitive help from within the program by using F1 key.

Beltcomp calculates six (6) sets of belt tensions simultaneously such as loaded running, loaded accelerating, loaded braking/coasting, empty running, empty accelerating and empty braking/coasting for all stations. It shows the maximum belt tensions for each case, the percentage loading and flags off in red if the loading exceeds the allowable limits.

Beltcomp calculates minimum concave and convex vertical curve radius for relevant points on the carrying side considering belt lift, belt stress and belt buckling restrictions.

Beltcomp calculates loaded and empty acceleration time, coasting time and braking time.

Beltcomp calculates minimum motor KW requirement for each drive station and gearbox ratio. It also flags off the motor power provided data in red if it is lower than the minimum requirement.

Beltcomp calculates all drive and brake pulley friction co-efficients and flags off in red if the figure exceed the allowable limit.

Beltcomp calculates approximate endless belt length and take-up weight.

Beltcomp calculates each pulley shaft diameter and estimates pulley weight allowing user to choose shell thickness, end disc thickness, hub distance bearing center and other properties.

Beltcomp automatically creates a belt tension plot in a separate form showing point to point belt tensions of each station for all six solution cases with distinctly different colors.

Beltcomp automatically creates a rough belt conveyor profile sketch to demonstrate the actual profile considered for the problem as per input given by the user.

Beltcomp allows saving of the particular belt conveyor problem input data in a beltcomp file, which can be opened later again from beltcomp program for further use.

Beltcomp provides a very useful feature of exporting input data, output data, profile sketch and tension plot to an Excel file which can be used for submission or any other reference.

Beltcomp calculates approximate endless belt length and take-up weight. It checks maximum belt width for adequate load support and minimum belt width for proper troughabilty with respect to the selected belt and flags off if the width selected is out of safe range.

Beltcomp calculates loaded and empty system WK^2 values which are often required for motor selection.

Beltcomp calculates each pulley shaft diameter and estimates pulley weight allowing user to choose shell thickness, end disc thickness, hub distance bearing center and other properties.

Beltcomp automatically creates a belt tension plot in a separate form showing point to point belt tensions of each station for all six solution cases with distinctly different colors.
