Hillsborough County is seeking a qualified professional to lead the Construction Services Section of the Building Services Division of Planning and Growth Management. The position manages a professional staff of certified building and trade inspectors, cross connection control inspectors, site (lot grading) inspectors, code compliance investigators and contractor licensing staff. The position reports to the Division Director and Building Official. This position serves as the Deputy Building Official and is the liaison with the construction industry and local jurisdictions on permitting and inspection issues to ensure consistency in building code interpretations and enforcement. This position will assist the Division Director in the implementation of performance audit recommendations and represents the Division on contractor licensing cases and contractor disciplinary cases presented to the Hillsborough County Board of Adjustment, Appeals and Examiners.
