21st Century Business Women

When the first generation of women entered the workforce in earnest in the 1970s, they succeeded in the only way they could by imitating men. Authoritarian leadership and tight control was the hallmark of that days businessman, and women were not exactly welcomed into the ranks of management. Well ladies, that was yesterday, and today is today!

Forget what your mama or your boss told you, because following the rules can be bad for your career.

How To Propagate Roses

Rose plants for forcing purposes are generally grown from cuttings of the new wood made any time from November to February, but for most purposes the earlier date is preferable. The rule generally given for learning if the plants are in proper condition to be used for cuttings, i.e., when in bending a branch the wood snaps, does not hold for roses, as cuttings should not be made until the buds in the axils of the leaves have become firm and hard.

Carpet Cleaners Exposed

A rugged man knocked on the door and asked if he could give an estimate to clean my carpet. The man looked the job over and quoted me an attractive price. I replied, “Okay, that sounds good. Do you have insurance?” In his feeble attempt to cover my objection he stated, “I had insurance, but it got too expensive. I dropped it to keep my prices down.
